Have I told you all how much I love Happy Quilt. I know why the owner named it Happy Quilt – it truly is heaven on earth. Picture this: a large warehouse where the little older couple who own the shop have hundreds of bolts of fabric and have, ever so painstakingly cut, folded and packaged 2-yd. increments of most of their fabrics. Heaven I tell ya! It’s much easier to navigate then the fabric market in Dongdaemun which I love just as much but I don’t need to devote an entire day to maneuvering my way around this place. I came home with 20 2-yd. packages and he even let me choose another package free because I had purchased so much.
Here it is in all its washed, wrinkled glory just waiting for a hot iron and some patterns. Joe knows I love this place so much and love collecting fabric so much he doesn’t even ask why I buy so much any more. What a wonderful husband! Check out my Flickr for closeups of some of the fabric I found.
I have visions of aprons, bibs, headbands, bags, and an entire month off to relish in my fabric euphoria! Wish me luck!
