European Vacation: Part 1

This past September we went to Germany for 3 weeks.  Joe had a TDY (military term for business trip) and then a Weather Conference.  We took a week in between to visit some friends who are stationed there.  This is the first of a few posts about our trip.

Our trip started in Ramstein where we enjoyed the new B/X Complex complete with Macaroni Grill and Cinnabon.  We stayed off base a few of the days at an adorable hotel called Hotel Barbarossahof.

Our week in Ramstein went super fast while Joe was in class all afternoon.  From Ramstein we headed north to Spangdahlem to visit our friends the Moores.  Gary and Tessie were good friends of ours in Korea and we were so excited to spend time with them and do a little relaxing and sightseeing.

Our first excursion was to Manderscheid to a Medieval Festival.  We left Gary and Briggs home to study and nap (respectively) and had a great time enjoying the Medieval festivities.

Our little guys had so much fun during the week, playing togethe.

Briggs was a little upset that every time he woke up from a nap someone else was in his chair, playing with all his toys.  But they quickly made up and had a great time playing together.

Thanks to a babysitter the Moores and we got to go out for a nice night out in Bitburg.

One day while Joe went golfing Tessie and I had a nice day in Trier.

We had such a good time with our dear friends.

Stay tuned tomorrow for another edition of European Vacation…
