During our week in Bitburg visiting the Moores we drove up north for the day to visit Cologne.
Cologne Cathedral was a must see. What a beautiful cathedral and very similar to the Seville Cathedral, in its gothic architecture.
While we walked around Cologne we had to stop at a beautiful chocolate shop for a few truffles.
The shopping in Cologne wasn’t too shabby either.
On our way back to Bitburg we decided to go see the Rhine River and get some dinner along the way. Thank goodness for GPS otherwise we probably would have starved by the time we made it back to Bitburg. We drove miles along the river, taking in all the beautiful scenery.
We found an adorable little restaurant along the way, a gem hidden away in a tiny little town that I can’t remember the name of.
The food was delicious and the view from the terrace was amazing. It felt magical.

The next time we visit Germany we will be sure to visit the Rhine region again. It was so beautiful and there are so many little towns I’d love to explore a little more.
